Typically same age as cigarettes, which is 18, but some clerks aren't as strict in enforcing this as they are actual cigarettes.

there is a legal age limit in NY to but a cigarette lighter believe it or not and it is 18 the very same as it is to purchase the cigarettes, rolling paper or cigar wraps as well.

idk bout in new york, but just find a shady gas station and they'll sell you anything. Also lighters i think you can buy at almost any age as long as the guy working there isn't an ***...
