Lighters- age limit?

is there a legal age limit to buy lighters. and no im not gunna smoke.

I live in VA and could not buy a lighter. you have to be 18.

What the F***?  Lighters are not exclusively used for drugs and tobacco.  I used to buy matches and lighters all the time when I was 16 in boy scouts.  It's difficult to use flint and steel when you go camping.  Also, how do you plan on lighting those candles in your house when the electricity goes out? You have to have something!

yep, it's 18 just like smoking. you can get carded, arrested, and also the shop can lose its tobacco license, just like with cigarettes

In WV your supposed to be 18, but nobody says anything.

Where I live you have to be 18 years of age - Many states do not have any laws or regulations regarding the purchase of lights or matches. Texas does not (atleast from what I looked up). Many stores do require to see ID to allow the sale of the lighters.

you would have to check with a local gas station but i no when i used to work at one a few years ago you could not buy a lighter if you was not at least 16 years old so i would check into it in your area
