I'm 18 years old, pretty healthy i think, and lately (like the past couple months) i have been having lightheaded/dizzy spells. whenever i get up from sitting or laying down i just feel like im gonna fall over and hafta hold on to something. today it has been REALLY bad but im assuming that's cause i had a tetanus shot 2 days ago and am really fevery and gross from it. also im taking antibiotics for a dog bite. but basically the dizziness has been happening way before that. so what's wrong with me and how can i get them to stop? it's so uncomfortable and i dont like it at all.

  1. probably the cause of  lightheaded and dizziness  not ralated with tetanus shot. must to find any medical advise to find out the exact causes of ligheadache and dizziness and if this continously experienced somethings problem and need to findout the underlying causes.

  2. Go to the doctor and explain the problem.  They will take some of your blood for a basic metabolic panel.  I had the same symptoms as you when I was about 20 and it turned out that I had anemia from an iron deficiency.  All I had to do was increase the iron in my diet by taking supplements or eating foods enriched with iron (white bread, breakfast cereal).  But in your case it could be a lot of things: diabetes, poor nutrition, or a more serious problem.

  3. Dizziness can refer to various conditions, from when we feel faint, unwell or light-headed, to vertigo or difficulties with balance. It can be caused by problems with your inner ear, your eyes or a mix up of nerve messages to your brain. It can also be triggered by other medical conditions, some minor, some serious, such as a drop in blood pressure or a heart condition. Sometimes your medication may cause it.

Feeling lightheaded is the feeling of being "spaced out" or having the sensation of spinning inside your head. It can also give you the sensation that if your lightheadedness worsens, you might lose consciousness. Causes may include:

        * Inner ear disorders. These abnormalities of your inner ear can lead to illusions of motion and make you feel like you're floating.

        * Anxiety disorders. Certain anxiety disorders, such as panic attacks and a fear of leaving home or being in large, open spaces (agoraphobia), may cause dizziness. Sometimes one cause — such as a vestibular disorder — may produce symptoms, but then anxiety causes your dizziness to persist even after your inner ear problem has resolved.

        * Hyperventilation. Abnormally rapid breathing that often accompanies anxiety disorders may make you feel lightheaded.

As a general rule, if you feel dizzy regularly and you do not know why you are dizzy, it is best to see adoctor to get it checked out.

  4. Maybe you have low blood pressure or an inner ear problem. If I were in your situation I would make an appointment with my doctor to discuss these symptoms.
