Question:

Lightheaded when I run?

I have recently started running again (preparing for swimsuit season) and whenever I get about half way through I always get really lightheaded.

What could this be from?

And how can I stop it?

Thank you!

  1. I think the problem is you are starting at either a pace that is to fast for you right now or you are running too long. When you start running, you can't just start at a fast pace and for a long time, you must warm yourself up. Start gradually getting faster and going for longer runs everyday, until you are at where you want to be. Never just start at a pace and length your body cant handle. The light headedness is probably because you are pushing your body too hard right now. Slow it down and gradually bring yourself up to where you want to be, and the light headedness should go away. If it doesnt, i would recomend seing a doctor.

    hope that helps

  2. You probably feel light headed because you're not breathing properly or aren't pacing yourself. Make sure when you run you dont sprint as fast as you can at the start and that you breath into your nose and out through your mouth ;)

  3. Just see the doctor if you need to. Maybe it can help you from being lightheaded when running. I also run, but I didn't feel it.

  4. Another thing it could be is low sugar in the body. So if you eat like a bird (small amounts) than take a small candy with you on the run and if you get lightheaded than pop it in your mouth. If it doesn't help, you're probably just running to fast. Some times our muscles can handle the load but our lungs and heart are not in condition yet.
