  1. 24 hour light isn't good for any fish. Indirect sunlight is best for Betta spawning. Direct sunlight will overheat the container.

  2. natural lighting is the best light source for bettas.  In the wild habitat, bettas don't need light all day and night, they actually build their nests in the shaded areas, under floating plantsl leaves and dead leaves.  Position your tank so that it can receive indirect sunlight.

  3. well, you may want to get a smallish lamp and let it shine on their tank.

    hope this helped

  4. you definitely don't want to have your lights on 24 hours

the perfect times are 12 hours on during the day and 12 hours off at nigt

if you spawn your bettas in a 10 gallon tank, which is recommended, you just need the regulra hood with the lightbulbs in it

also fluoroscent are not a problem at all either
