Question:

Lighting myth?

Is it true that it's a myth that carrying a golf club around or a sword or something during a thunderstorm will NOT attract lighting? If it IS a myth, are lightning rods worthless? I'm just asking this because I heard that it's a myth on the show "modern marvels."

  1. That's a new myth, and I'm suprised that MM would say it.  It is very dangerous to carry metal objects outside during a thunderstorm.  And lightning rods are very effective

  2. I see no reason a large metal object wouldn't attract lightning.
