Lightning collector?

We all know that lightning is a completly differnt form of electricity and can't be used like conductive electricity.

However We could build facilities in the dessert that could collect the heat from static discharges and use it to run steam turbines?

why does every fool want to build every thing in the desert southwest.

in this case florida has a lot more lightning.

you could catch it in giant compositor for power.

the costs for such a device would be out of this world  better of with solar collectors and wind farms cheaper and they do the trick and can be built close to the power lines and communities that us it
