Question:

Lightning fried my new TV,any suggestions?

It turns off as soon as I turn it on..(regular RCA 27",1 year old)

  2. If your certain it was lightning that fried your set your homeowners or renters insurance may cover some of the loss. Other than that ask a TV repair person if it's worth fixing at all.

  3. You're not using a surge protector?  Either way lightning is likely to just damage the transformers / voltage regulators, etc, that the power source uses.

    Take it into a repair shop, and ask them if they endorse company warranties.  Some shops won't take some TVs (based on brand or where you bought it).  For example, one here in town doesn't take Best Buy products because they apparently never pay up on their warranties.
