Question:

Lightning in my blankets?

Sometimes when I move around in bed, there are little streaks of light, like tiny lightning bolts that skittle across my blanket. I think this means I have PK energy. What do you think? (Eri, I'll bet you can't explain THIS! Skeptics! HA!)

  1. It could be static electricity, or it could be that you have reached the level of illumination (before reaching enlightenment.

As a child I could focus my mind and project a soft amber light from my eyes.

Then I fell into the trap of being too involved in the mind. Then a few years later I took up meditation, and Qigong and I was ble to see and experience that light again.

  2. Static electricity.

  3. static electricity

    its cool isnt it?

  4. dont know

  5. Most likely either

    (a) static electricity, or

    (b) a hot blonde

  6. Its the discharge of static electricity from one portion of the blanket to another. Many common fabrics have a physical structure that allows them to capture electrons from things that are rubbed against them. When to many of these excess electrons are together they will repel one and other until they find a path to another host(This is the arc of light you see).

  7. Are you sure that these streaks of light are not just figments of your imagination or wishful thinking?  Have you had your opinions peer reviewed?

There have been no legitimate experiments performed that prove the existence of small streaks of light in your blankets.  You are obviously relying soley on your own observations to describe the events, and, with all respect, your observations are not proof to anybody but you.  You might as well be imagining the entire event.

And related to what's causing this imaginary phenomenon, since it's not proven that it ever actually occurred, you can make up just about any explanation - like static electricity or the anger of the gods.  Take your pick.  They're all just as likely.

(I enjoy the discourse here, but would rather not see ridicule or name calling.)

  8. Static electricity

the Neg and Pos. force between human and blanket

  9. Sorry Chief. This is a static electricity phenomina. Nothing more. Orbs would not be limited to the surface of the blanket.

  10. Sounds like static electricity to me.I work at a plastic bags factory and sometimes I see those same static charges even up to an inch or more long!

  11. Go with cotton sheets and blankets.

  12. Try static electricity!

I bet it doesn't happen except when some motion is involved.

  13. it's static electricity.  I used to have fun with some old sleeping bags by turning off the lights and using my hand to vigorously move the synthetic outer shell against the insulation.  it'd give off some pretty cool light shows.  also, synthetic fleece blankets will shock you if you move around in them too much.

  14. Okay, look. I know that lots of "paranormal" things are real, but this is static electricity.  It happens to everyone, though it depends on what sort of blanket you are using. Some generate it better than others.

You know something? I once shocked myself on the same shopping cart three times in about 20 minutes. And once I got such a big shock from a metal pole that my entire hand went numb as well as a small part of my arm. And it was loud enough to hear from ten feet away without listening. And it HURT.

  15. It can be a couple things:

    1) You're an attractor of spirit energy manifesting itself in an aura of sparks surrounding you; or

    2) Static electricity.

Personally, I think (1) is a much more fun explanation :)
