Lightning trying to sign Malone, Roberts...?

I know they have not become official signings. I do plan on it though. This is huge to me. I love the new owner so far, making some little splashes in the NHL. Doesnt look like the are trying to rebuild. More like trying to win a Cup like this year.

Could be 3rd great thing to happen this offseason. Stamkos, Malons, Roberts. Three IMPACT players so far. Line are becoming deep now. Very exciting ride so far. What do you think?

As a Pittsburgh fan I was not surprised whatsoever when I heard they got traded. Neither wanted to resign here.

I may be mistaken, but I've heard Tampa is offering Roberts a contract here resl soon and they're willing to pay Malone the money he wants, so yes....I think they'll get them signed.

I think they are begining to get deep. They're still missing something very important..........defenseman.

If they can sign one or two good/decent d-men then they're set. Smith is going to be a great goaltender, but he needs some help.

Right now they sound good up front......Lecavalier, St. Louis. Prospal, Stamkos, Malone (maybe), and Roberts (maybe).

I think Malone and Roberts will help that team so much. Both guys are tough men. Did you see the SCFs where Malone got his nose busted and came back out? And everyone knows about Gary's toughness.

Like I said, get some d-men and they're good to go.

Malone is seeking $5 million

This guy isn't too much of a finisher, i don't see him getting over 30 goals.

Can you blame the man for leaving Pittsburgh I mean 5 million bucks when you are $1.5 - 2.5 player go for it but this looks like a series of bad moves by the Lighting to become relevant again but then again I mean if the Caps get banged up the Southeast is an easy #3 seed waiting to be ate up

Thats all fine and good, but you only have so much room to spend. And, sorry but Roberts is a role player and a leader, but not someone who is going to carry a team. You need to have a more solid core befor you try to put in the vets, just my opinion

the biggest thing i think that they did is get mike smith. starting with a clean slate and some new blood=, i think this team can really come out a lot more confident and be backed by a world class tender.

this is a nice move in tampa and that makes them the southeast divison threats with the caps and i think that tampa needs a goal tender to get into the playoffs.

The Lightning seem to be on a role right now, hopefully they can keep it going during the regular season.

I honestly doubt anything will happen. The Bolts just obtained the rights to talk to them and nothing more. 85% of the time it fails anyways.

ahhh that made me sad im a huge pens fan and roberts was a huge aggressive powerhouse for them. tampa is going to have a great team next year undoubtedly with their new additions

This is huge!!! Hockey Bay is back! I cant wait to see what these owners can do for this team and the city!!!! Vinny has some help again! If we can find a goaltender, we are set!

Brilliant move to get exclusive rights to negotiate. Malone would be amazing on this team!

I like what Tampa Bay is doing, they are going to have a great team next season.

Malone and Roberts might be impact players, but that could all change, they are not playing with the same team mates.
