Lights, Camera, Action???

Question

I am good at acting and singing, and 12 years old. How did other child stars get discovered, and how can I do the same??? Websites for actual auditions would help. (By real I mean not unpaid or cheesy jobs. Stuff that would actually be in theatres.) I am thinking about America's got talent.
