  1. if you have the high effeciency light bulbs, then leave them on because it takes a lot of power to get them on in the first place. they'll last a lot longer.

  2. dont use them if u dont need them

  3. If you don't need the lights turn them off.  Another suggestion, get rid of, or unplug, appliances that have lights or clocks on them when you aren't using them.  DVD players, cable boxes, and satellite boxes are terrible for this.  They are constantly using energy even when not in use just to keep a little light on.  Thanks.

  4. depnds.., but try to switch when you are going out for long before you switch on again

  5. bulbs burn out faster with on-off

  6. durring the day, dont use lights at all, just turn them off and open your blinds/cutains, but for two minutes it is better to leave them on. But say you are walking down the hall for a few seconds just leave the lights off dont even bother turning them off, save energy girlfriend!

  7. don't use them if you don't need 2

  8. If it's just 2 mins, leave them on. The wear and tear on the switch is not good.  You will not be saving that much energy.

  9. For two minutes, I wouldn't stress it...you could leave them on.

If ten minutes, that's a whole other thing...go ahead and turn them off.

However----if you're using CFLs, they actually recommend you not to switch them off and on (wears them down).  If you're away less than 15 minutes, you should definitely leave them on.
