The Hamburg striker is out of contract and many clubs are keen on signing him including a few Ligue 1 clubs
Almost everywhere in Europe, many football clubs are looking to sign free agents rather than splashing a lot of cash on contracted players. Recently, another player has become part of the race between clubs who are keen on bringing him to their respective
facilities.
31-year-old Croatian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 with reports claiming that Petric is keen on
making a new move.
While talking to media, the Croatian said that he will decide the best option for his family with his wife before giving more details as to where he could be playing next season.
The former Grasshoppers star says that he will not make a return to the Swiss league because his wife wants to go somewhere sunny. The player admits that though there is a proposal from a Greek side, he will be more inclined towards making a move to Ligue
1, La Liga or the English Premier League.
“I would not return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 but it’s not a leading championship. Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1 are good options.”
Certainly, the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 and Girondins de Bordeaux would be looking to sign the former Borussia Dortmund player who might not cost that match.
All the three aforementioned Ligue 1 sides desperately need a new striker especially Bordeaux whose coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francis-c13946 Gillot has already said that signing a new striker would be his top priority for the summer transfer window.
Reports in Germany claim that though there have been discussions with some clubs, a decision is yet to be made.
However, the player wants just 2 million Euros per year which may be affordable for interested Ligue 1 clubs.
Petric signed for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 from Borussia Dortmund in 2008 and in 98 games, scored 38 goals.
