Ligue 1 match report:  AJ Auxerre vs. FC Sochaux-Montbeliard
A hat-trick and assist from Kenyan international Dennis Oliech gave AJ Auxerre a 4-1 win over FC Sochaux Montbeliard at Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps in Week 8 of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 championelle on September 25, 2011.
Sochaux were looking to recover from last week’s 6-2 hammering at the hands of Stade Rennais as they faced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AJ-Auxerre-c38247.
Les Lionceaux got to a perfect start in the second minute when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oliver-c28477 Sorlin to score the first
goal of the match.
Sochaux came close to doubling their lead when Marvin Martin’s fierce shot from outside the box was saved by Steven Mouyokolo in the 29th minute.
The home team could have equalised in the 30th minute, as Dennis Oliech received a loose ball near the penalty area, but his left-footed shot was palmed over by goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Teddy-Richert-c34753.
AJA were a goal down as the teams headed back to the tunnel for the half-time interval.
In the second half, Auxerre were desperate to comeback in the game and whatever coach Laurent Fournier told his team in the dressing room worked. In the 51st minute, Dennis Oliech’s cross went across the face of the goal and landed at the feet
of Alain Traore who made no mistakes in placing the ball into the netting.
Just a minute later, AJA capitalised on some abysmal goalkeeping by the Sochaux captain, who failed to stop a long ball by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kamel-Chafni-c20261 by charging out of the box. Richert failed to collect the ball and instead gave Oliech a clear sight at goal. The Kenyan
did not need telling twice as he tapped the ball into an empty net to give AJA the lead.
The visitors were put under more pressure a few minutes later. Oliech duly took advantage and netted a third. In the 63rd minute, Oliech scored from a second attempt following a save by Richert. The Kenyan international received another long ball,
this time from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dariusz-Dudka-c10315. Oliech’s first attempt was deflected by Richert back to the former Nantes man, who shot towards the bottom left corner to beat the goalkeeper, giving the Burgundy club a two-goal cushion.
Four minutes later, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alain-Traoré-c4235, to find himself once again in front of an open net, taking the score
line to 4-1.
Thanks to some abysmal defending and even more woeful goalkeeping, Auxerre were able to score four goals in 16 minutes.
The score line remained 4-1 until the final whistle. AJA will be pleased to have registered their second win in the 2011/12 Ligue 1 Championelle, taking them to 9th spot in Ligue 1 standings. Les Lionceaux need to regroup as they have conceded
ten goals in their last two games, which has dropped them down to 12th spot in Ligue 1 standings.
