The UNFP has issued the list of three shortlisted candidates who are expected to win the French Ligue 1 Player of the Month Award, for the month of November.

The 2012/13 Ligue 1 action for the month of November had its highs and lows, with a drastic change at the top of the table, a few surprising victories and some shocking losses. More or less, the month was packed with football action of all sorts.
The biggest shock to happen during this month was Paris Saint-Germain’s exit from the Coupe de la Ligue by the hands of AS Saint-Etienne, as well as their inability to secure good results in the Ligue 1. The Paris-based club was only able to win four points
from games played in the league.
On the other hand, Olympique Lyonnais emerged as league leaders following their impressing displays, both at home and away. This was the first time this season Les Gones emerged at the top of the table. With coach, Remi Garde, aiming to win the Championnat,
the Lyon-based club would try to maintain their spot at the top.
The league also witnessed changes in the form of different clubs, including Stade de Reims’ poor performance, Toulouse FC’s inconsistent performances and Stade Rennais heroics against cash-laden PSG.
Following the series of events in the league, a few players have exhibited extraordinary skill during the month of November. These include Bafetimbi Gomis, Stephane Ruffier, Romain Alessandrini, Fuoad Kadir, Wissam Ben Yedder and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yoan-Gouffran-c37412. However,
only the first three players were selected by the UNFP as candidates for the prestigious Player of the Month award for November.
Bafetimbi Gomis (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130)
The prolific striker has been sensational throughout this season, with the month of November being extraordinary for the attacker. The 27-year-old has scored 4 goals in the league this month, and has been a reliable performer for Les Gones.
The Frenchman’s moment of glory was his hat-trick against rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, where Remi Garde’s men thrashed the hosts 4-1. The victory not only helped boosting the team’s confidence but also granted them the top spot in the league table.
Moreover, Gomis also helped the Lyon-based club to secure all three points against their historical rivals, Stade de Reims, as he scored the only goal of the game.
Stephane Ruffier (AS Saint-Etienne)
The goalkeeper had a great outing for Les Verts this November, as he only conceded three goals in 5 games while playing in the league. Ruffier helped his team in securing victories over Paris Saint-Germain, Troyes and Valenciennes. The player also maintained
Les Verts’ undefeated streak, one that’s extended to 10 matches now.
Moreover, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international also delivered impressive performance in the Coupe de la Ligue encounter against PSG, where he led his side to a victory against Les Parisiens. The victory ensured his side a spot in the semi-finals of the competition.
Romain Alessandrini (Stade Rennais)
The midfielder had a couple of terrific games in the month of November, and has shown his attacking capabilities following his recent goal-scoring form. The Frenchman has scored two vital goals this month, which helped his side secure all three points in
the respective games.
The 23-year-old has played his fair share of good performances, and was stunning during the fixture against Les Parisiens, where the former Clermont Foot player also scored a goal. The coach, Frederic Antonetti, has been more than satisfied at the youngster’s
performance, which would lead him being featured in the upcoming fixtures.
