The Swedish international has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a three-year deal and many Ligue 1 players and coaches can’t wait to see the striker in action
Finally, Paris Saint-Germain have found a world-class striker. For what it seemed like eons, sporting director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 searched heaven and earth for a striker who could take the cash-laden Ligue 1 side to the next level.
Last night, Les Parisiens convinced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 to put pen to paper on a three-year deal. The former AC Milan player will reportedly earn 12.5 million euros per year excluding bonuses.
The Swede is PSG’s fourth signing of the season following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 and Marco Verratti. Milan were in serious financial trouble and had no other option than to let go of their two prized assets Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic.
Though many people have been critical of PSG’s approach in the transfer market this summer, there are many players and coaches who are excited at the prospect of facing a player of Ibrahimovic’s stature.
Ligue 1 is not really accustomed to land a player of Ibrahimovic’s calibre and many players who are plying their trade in France’s elite league are excited by the arrival of the 30-year-old.
Anthony Lippini, who plays for Ajaccio, says that he never dreamed of playing against a guy like Ibra. Benedict Costil of Stade Rennais predicts that there will be great moments every time the Swede plays.
“It will be great games every time he plays. For those who will play (those games), there will be nice moments.”
Kurt Zouma, who plays for AS Saint-Etienne says that the Swede is an exceptional striker on TV so it would be great to see if it’s really the case.
“On TV, he is exceptional. I want to see if that’s really true.”

Though many coaches might have their reservations about the way PSG are investing, OGC Nice coach, Claude Puel feels that new French Prime Minister, Francois Hollande will see only positive things following the arrival of the player at Parc des Princes.
“It’s good for everybody. For Ligue 1, to host great players. For PSG, who can now better satisfy their Champions League ambitions. And for Mr. Hollande, who can then bring back a little more money in the coffers.”
The Scandinavian giant’s arrival in Paris is indeed a great news for Ligue 1 as it will increase the league’s viewership and image next season.
