The Brazilian sporting director has drawn himself a list of players who would be suitable replacements for the Zaire-born French legend. Included in this list are PSG star midfielder, Blaise Matuidi, and Serie A giants Juventus’ Brazilian midfielder, Felipe
Melo.

However, after attracting a lot of interest from France and abroad, the youngster decided to stay at the Rhone-Alpes club. Since then, Matuidi has become an integral part of Les Verts side.
The former coach of Serie A giants, Internazionale and AC Milan, is keen on signing Matuidi. Leonardo has a keen eye for talent and knows exactly the ingredients to look for in a midfielder. Leonardo needs to find the best replacement, who would be able
to meet the benchmark set by the Claude Makelele.
Les Rouge-et-Bleu will be competing in the UEFA Europa League next season. The sporting director is in negotiations with Saint-Étienne for the 24-year old defensive midfielder. Initial reports suggest that a fee of 8 million Euros has been offered to Stade
Geoffroy-Guichard, who are holding out for 13 million Euros.
There is a high possibility that the agreement between Les Verts and Les Parisiens will conclude in the next few days. After staying at the club for over 5 years, the vice captain and former Troyes man is looking for a new challenge in his footballing career.
Furthermore, a move to PSG could also help Matuidi in securing a more regular spot in the France national side under the guidance of manager Laurent Blanc.
