Ligue 1 special: Paris Saint-Germain should find a replacement for Mevlut Erdinç if he leaves
Following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ludovic-Giuly-c22617.
However, the Parisian club still needs to work more on the recruitment process as there are a lot of grey areas in the current squad.
Since the arrival of Leonardo as the club’s sporting director, PSG have made just three signings this summer. Milan Bisevac was signed from Valenciennes the same day the club signed Menez and Matuidi. Bisevac arrival means that centre-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zoumana-Camara-c38101
is on his way out of the Parc des Princes.
With just three men signed since the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c40446 star Ganso. Though Leonardo is keen on bringing the youngster to the Parc des
Princes, Santos’ insistence on not letting go of the attacking midfielder for less than 45 million Euros might prove to be a big hurdle in the transfer.
The Ligue 1 giants are also keeping tabs on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 who is currently under contract at Italian Serie A side Palermo. The arrival of either of the two (Ganso and Pastore) would give PSG a lot of creativity in the middle of the park.
The main question that PSG should now be asking should be if spending big on talented youngsters really necessary?
What went wrong for PSG last season was the lack of depth in the bench. Les Parisiens did not have enough quality players on the bench who could be called out for crucial stages of games.
With the signing of Blaise Matuidi, the Paris-based club has let go of Jeremy Clement who has joined AS Saint-Etienne. Turkish international Mevlut Erdinç initially declared of his desire to stay at PSG but judging by the club’s pursuit of another striker,
the 24-year-old could be on his way out this summer.
Though Jeremy Clement’s departure might not hurt PSG at all as young defensive midfielder Clement Chantome can replace Blaise Matuidi if the Frenchman misses a few games next season due to injuries and suspension, the striking department needs a fresh face
as well.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillaume-Hoarau-c15332 is not a proven goalscorer and if Gameiro goes through a bad patch next season, PSG would be short
of goalscorers which would be a major setback for the club.
In Jean-Christophe Bahebeck, Leonardo has a good young and upcoming striker. However, the Frenchman at the age of just 18 cannot be relied upon too much yet. Furthermore, the youngster has played just 11 games for PSG so far which means that he needs to
gain a lot of experience so Leonardo and coach Antoine Kombouare will not be looking to stretch him too much next season.
A replacement for Erdinç (if he departs) is necessary for PSG who would be looking to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and will be featuring in the Europa League next season.
Depth in squad is a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bare-c7300 necessity for PSG next season as the club would definitely struggle a lot like they did last season when Nene was forced to miss a few games in the second half of the 2010/2011 Ligue 1 season.
