The France international brought shame to his teammates and the nation as a whole at the Euros and was slapped with a three-game ban by the France Football Federation
The verdict came on Friday at the headquarters of the France Football Federation (FFF). After a meeting with the Disciplinary committee, France international, Samir Nasri was handed a three-game ban for various offenses at the Euro 2012 in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032.
The Manchester City man in short, made a downright fool of himself on two separate occassions. After scoring France’s equaliser against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 winger gave a shut up sign to L’Equipe journalists. If that was not enough, the midfielder
went on to show how sore of a loser he is after France’s 2-0 defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
When asked a normal question by a L’Equipe journalist, Nasri used abusive language and even threatened the reporter.
Apart from his squabbles with press, the Frenchman also disrespected the code of conduct of the national team which was implemented by Laurent Blanc.
FFF’s decision now means that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national side.
Besides missing the international friendly against Copa http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uruguay-c3035, scheduled for this August, Nasri will also miss the start of the 2014 World Cup playoffs. He has something to regret, but Nasri can also consider himself really lucky given
the outcome of the hearing.
Three games not enough
Given the impact of his attitude that was deplorable especially after the Knysna scenes, Nasri could/should have been slapped with a heftier ban just to make an example to all players who aspire to represent the national side.
Following the European Championship, it was rumoured that Samir Nasri will be banned for either a period of two years or permanently. At the age of 25, a two-year ban would have been the hardest blow in the player’s international career which began back
in 2007.
While there is no shortage of examples in a not so distant past (Ribery and Anelka), when players have come back from a hiatus and done well for their national team, would Nasri have been strong enough to come back stronger?
Many people still feel that just a three-game ban is not a fair outcome of the hearing as Nasri’s actions warranted stronger measures. Knowing his character and how his emotions always seem to get the better of him, Nasri warrants a longer ban according
to many people.
Just a sign of things to come?
However, just a three-game ban could spell an end to Nasri’s Les Bleus career if the case of former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757.
The FFF gave the player just a one-game ban, much to the displeasure of many former players and fans.
To this day, the Malaga star has not returned to the national team setup and the same fate could be awaiting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360.
Although he’s only 25 and has unquestionable talent, but Nasri’s recent actions could force Didier Deschamps to do without him. Furthermore, Deschamps never really trusted Nasri during his time at Olympique de Marseille and might field a team in which there
will be no place for the Manchester City man.
Nasri’s actions were beyond reproach both on and off the field. Despite so much talent, being a volatile character makes Nasri a danger to the harmony of the national side and Didier Deschamps will keep this in mind once the player’s three-game ban ends.
