Like Clockwork likely to prevail in Henry Alken Handicap at Leicester
Bridgehampton is carrying the highest starting price for Henry Alken Handicap, taking place at Leicester on Monday, May 21st. Despite the fact that the 3-year-old has a wonderful win to his credit, his chances of
winning are not absolute today.
Like Clockwork is pumped up with confidence after a recent strike. On the first of May, the bay gelding performed magnificently, sealing the top place in the Betfair iPhone & Android App Handicap at Kempton.
The class 6 meeting saw him topping the chart by a length’s distance. Fleur De La Vie tried hard to upset the proceedings, but Mark H Tompkins’ trainee maintained his dominance all the way through.
The bay gelding is facing a tough opposition today. Among his rivals are: Bridgehampton, Naseem Alyasmeen, News Show, Za´lan, Arley Hall, Landown Littlerock, Torero and Our Ivor. The 1m3f183y event is scheduled to commence at
20:50 GMT.
Bridgehampton is heading the market with some good reason. Michael Bell’s trainee performed superbly last week, winning the Beverley Middle Distance Series Handicap quite easily.
Under Jamie Spencer, the 3-year-old defeated Cheviot Quest by four lengths. The bookmakers are expecting him to build on his fresh success and do a fine job today.
Out of others, Naseem Alyasmeen is an interesting candidate. The 3-year-old performed outstandingly last month. After staying out of action for more than seven months, the filly returned with a fine effort at Wolverhampton,
seizing the runner-up place in the Horizons Restaurant, The Place To Dine Classified Stakes.
She perpetuated her good and clinched a comprehensive win in the Think Taxi Think DG 01159500500 Handicap. After a couple of fine performances, she lost her momentum and as a result, finished third last time around. The spectators
at Catterick saw her missing the second spot by 2 3/4 lengths in the Richmond Conditions Stakes.
Za'Lan made a winning return at the start of March. After an excellent comeback, the gelding lost his direction and finished third in the Brindley Honda Fleet Handicap at Wolverhampton.
According to our calculations, Like Clockwork has a good chance of upsetting Bridgehampton. With two last-time-out winners up against each others, a nail-biting contest is on the cards. Good luck to everyone.
