Like me, did you expect to be gloating tonight after Andy Murray lost but have changed your mind?

Obviously in the back of my mind is his quote that: "He would support any team that were playing against England", but at the end of the match, I felt quite sorry for him.

  1. Nah i still dislike him im soooo glad Rafa put him in his place :) Its not all bad for Murray he got to see what real muscles look like :P

  2. Actually I haven't changed my mine...I'm still laughing at people who thought Murray was gonna win...

  3. That quote was taken out of context since the reporter who asked the question was jibing him about Scotland not being in the World Cup so I think people are unfair when they use that against him.

Personally, I wasn't expecting him to win simply because Nadal is very, very good and Murray has a little way to go to get to the right fitness levels and so on to compete with the likes of him. I think he is actually very good and that the British can be very fickle.

    Incidentally I am English.

  4. I try to have an open mind Sir Jackie Stewart is a nice enough bloke David Coulthard is OK too.

But beware they wear that flag about their person, that should be your clue.

I can’t say for sure but did Tiger Tim ever wear the cross of Saint George?

  5. Hi Alana,

He's said other derogatory things about England. When interviewed on TV some time ago he was asked "Will you be supporting England in the world cup? to which he replied "I don't give a sh*t about England"

So no, him losing hasn't changed my mind about gloating - the sooner he's off my TV screen - the better.

I hope he gets knocked out in the first round next year.

  6. He's not even on my radar.

  7. It's all in the game.  He will get over it.  i can just imagine what they will be writing about him in the papers after his behavior after winning against Gasquet.  He met his match today and was whipped like a horse.  i felt for him but I also knew he could not beat Nadal with that game.

  8. No point gloating, gloating only makes sense when an opponent wins a really tough challenger...lets face it, compared to Nadal, Murray's nothing. I just wondered why some blinkered British fans thought just because he beat Gasquet(who wasn't even playing at his best), he was gonna stun Nadal.

  9. I can't stand that guy, he is ugly, boring and a very average tennis player. The only reason I felt a twinge of sorrow for him was because he got so severely beaten it was quite humiliating at times.

  10. Im Scottish and you know this, Im glad he lost.  He is not a very nice person and is very arrogant.  Anyway, Nadal is a far superior player than Murray.

  11. Nadal better than Murray?  Never . You should have asked Murray that question  after last match where he said he was going to beat Nadal. Note he did not mention whether he felt tired or not

Watch the papers tomorrow talking about how Brave and tired murray was

We have heard all this before

  12. That was a quote i believe he bitterly regrets, having said that i didn't watch the match because i really didn't think he had a hope of beating Nadal, who like Federer is on a  completely different plane

  13. No, I'm glad he lost. He thought he was such a hot shot but Rafa showed him the reality. VAMOS RAFA!
