Like we have private airlines in India now, can we expect private railway too someday?(with bullet trains)?

There will certainly be a healthy competition between government and private operators. It might result in having most modern trains like in France, Germany, Japan etc.

two years back there was an article in some magazine (dont remember week or india today) regarding two small private railways in India !! probably they must have breathed their last by now.

I think railways are thinking of the same on some routes. I hope we may have a private railway soon ie in 7 to 10 years.
