Likeable Rogue to seal success at Exeter – Novices’ Hurdle Preview
Likeable Rogue, the champion trainer Paul Nicholls-trained bay gelding, is likely to show a decent performance on Tuesday, March 6 at Exeter racecourse and register the maiden victory of his career by winning ‘Weatherbys Bank Novices’ Hurdle’.
In the Class 4 contest of 2m7f110y distance, Likeable Rogue is set to compete against Henry The First, Kilderry Dean, Landerbee, My Grunter, Mystic Appeal, Slick Trader, Talkonthestreet, Tenitemsplustoast and Vering.
The event is scheduled to start at 4:30 (GMT). There is supposed to be a fierce clash tonight as each of the entries is strong enough.
However, Likeable Rogue seems to be tougher than all. The novice runner has run for just three times so far since making his debut in February 2011.
The talented gelding finished 2nd each in his last two outings. He last ran on January 31, 2012 against 9 potential competitors.
The six-year-old maverick horse is expected to accomplish the first ever triumph of his career today. Nicholls seems to be quite satisfied with the talent and preparation of his pupil.
Likeable Rogue’s chances to finish first are as high as 80 percent. But his march towards success is not going to be easy as Talkonthestreet and Mystic Appeal may give him rather tough time.
Talkonthestreet started his career with a marvellous victory in April 2011. Philip Hobbs’ bay gelding finished second each in two races during October-December.
In his last outing on February 15, 2012, the young runner grabbed 5th spot against 13 rivals. So, he looks to be in good form right now.
On the other hand, Mystic Appeal finished second in his second last outing on January 25, 2012 and got 4th position in his last start on February 22. The trainee of Jeremy Scott started his career in March 2011.
By and large, the Novices’ Hurdle is going to be an awe-inspiring competition. There will be a tough battle at Exeter. Likeable Rogue will have to wrest success from the jaws of his opponents. Let us see who gains what. Good luck to all the runners.
