Likelihood of getting an english teaching assistants position in France?

I am wanting to apply for the english teaching assistants program in France. I am from New Zealand and have a degree and for the past year have been working in an international publishing company. I have a strong academic record (I won a prize for history in my final year), however in my final semester I failed a french paper. Since then I have been taking classes at the Alliance Francaise and my french has really improved. Do you think this will mean that I wont be accepted for the program? I am a New Zealand citizen so will apply through the french embassy in NZ. Do you think this will jepodise my changes of being accepted?

  1. Actually I may have some advice in an around about fashion. My sister-in-law, who graduated from an american university with a degree in french, had the opportunity to teach English in a Paris university on an exchange program. They sent a graduate student to the States to teach french to high school students and she went to teach english to high school students (or their equivalent) for two years. So my suggestion is to contact, not the embassy, but your university to see if they have a similar program. Hope this helps.
