Lil Risky to lock horns with Glanmire Lad in Romford Dogs.com Standard
Lil Risky has got a decent chance of recording a hat-trick of Grade OR victories, by claiming the Romford Dogs.com Standard in England on Wednesday, December 12, 2012.
Things will not be easy for him, as the level of competition is too high. There are some fierce competitors up against him and they have all been trained to deliver a high quality result at this level.
However, Lil Risky has been under pressure situations in the past as well, but he managed to come out at the top in them. Therefore, his confidence level will be good and he will be looking forward to the start of action at 20:15 GMT.
The Grade OR contest has attracted some very good greyhounds, who will be competing over 400 metres to bag a cash prize of £500.
Looking at the overall distance to cover, it seems that the starting positions will be of high importance, as everyone will be looking to gain an early momentum.
However, it will not be possible for all of the contestants to get off to a brisk start, as some of them might get crowded earlier on.
One of those greyhounds could be, Glanmire Lad, who has been given the highest odds for a victory. He has been slotted in trap number three, which is not an ideal position to start off with, especially in a 400 metres competition.
However, he will get plenty of time to make up some places towards the ending moments of the race. He has been given a general starting price of 4 to 5, which clearly shows that he is expected to walk away with a comfortable victory.
The M. Wallis’ trained dog is in great rhythm right now, as he won his most recent Grade OR event by a comfortable margin of 8½ lengths. He will look to repeat a similar show at Romford in order to make his team proud.
Coming back to Lil Risky, he is also not in a bad shape at all. Moreover, he will break into the race from trap number one, which will help him make a strong impression at the end of the day.
He was victorious in his previous two Grade OR competitions and is in a decent position to set another hat-trick in this class.
