Lil Wayne to debut his Trukfit apparel line at Agenda trade show next month
The American rapper, song writer and actor Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., more commonly known as Lil Wayne, will introduce his Trukfit apparel line at the Agenda trade show that is scheduled to run at the Long Beach Convention Centre in California from January
5-6.
The new line of clothing is heavily inspired by skateboarding and street culture, something that the Grammy award-winning rapper has been passionate about for quite some time now.
One of the brand’s public relations representatives, Sarah Cunningham, described the new clothing line as “well-made, stylish ad edgy”, asserting that the quality and design of the new Trukfit collection will appeal to everyone.
According to her, the brands currently existing in the skate world lack a broad vision and do not take into account the life outside of their world. Trukfit, on the other hand, uses the lifestyle of Wayne as an inspiration to blend both the worlds and come
up with something that has a mass appeal.
Cunningham revealed that the 29-year-old Louisiana-based artist has been living his passion for skateboarding quite regularly and often rides at the local park after getting done with a show.
“Lil Wayne has long been recognized as a music and pop culture icon,” said Cunningham. “He has developed a unique style -- both sonically and visually -- and extending his brand and vision into apparel was a natural progression. As Lil Wayne is passionate
about skateboarding, it only made sense for him to infuse that passion into Trukfit.”
Aside from Wayne, a number of other artists, including Lil Twist and Cory Gunz on his Young Money label also share his passion for skateboarding.
Explaining the brand’s decision to introduce Trukfit at the Agenda trade show, Cunningham said that the blend of subcultures at the upcoming show provided the perfect backdrop for the unveiling of their new line of apparel.
The president of Agenda Aaron Levant was quite happy about Wayne choosing his event to debut Trukfit. Talking to the leading sports network ESPN, Levant admitted that he is a fan of Wayne’s music and expects Trukfit to be a success.
