Lille OSC's Rudi Garcia hopeful of ending the season on a high - French Ligue 1 News
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, to close gap
on the leaders.
Former Saint-Etienne manager believed that his side would maintain their top spot in the League and will take care of situation in the future games. He also acknowledged Marseille’s ability to grab that top spot but urged his side to maintain their composure
and focus.
The 47-year-old stayed firm in his belief that Lille would eventually end up on top of the table and admitted that the Mastiffs have been going through a sloppy run of form. He assured that the fans don’t need to worry about anything and what we need most
is their support.
Lille are currently leading the Ligue 1 flight with 60 points while Marseille are not far behind the leaders with 58 points and a game in hand. Further mentioning about his team’s current situation, Garcia added, "You measure the quality of a side on their
ability to bounce back," Garcia told L'Equipe. "This group can do that because they know what they have to do.”
He further told that it won’t be an easy thing for any team to register wins in each of their remaining games and this would certainly work in our favour. Garcia told, "We know that no team will win every match between now and the end of the season - not
us, not Marseille or any other team."
The Mastiffs started losing momentum when they had to suffer a surprising defeat to the hands of 15th placed AS Monaco when the two teams met on Saturday, April 9. Then Garcia’s team were held back to a 1-1 draw against Girondins Boredaux when
the two locked horns on Saturday, April 16. Finally, Lille again had to contend with a 1-1 draw when they met http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153 on Sunday, April 24. This made life tougher for the leaders as they snapped up just two points from a possible nine.
Now Lille have just six games remaining in their campaign as compared to Marseille’s seven and Rudi Garcia would ideally want to grab maximum number of points from those games. Lille OSC will next take on AC Arles-Avignon on Saturday, April 30 in order to
restart their campaign in their bid for the title.
