Les Dogues have acquired the services of the highly-rated youngster after agreeing to a deal with Troyes AC for the player’s signature
The 19-year-old has attracted a lot of interest from a host of sides in recent weeks. Several Ligue 1 sides were keen to attain the services of the full back but Lille have beaten them in the race for the player’s signature.
Les Dogues are bracing for the likely departure of their first-choice right-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Debuchy-c24682, who is on the verge of completing a move to English Premier League side Newcastle United.
Lille coach Rudi Garcia was on the lookout for an adequate replacement for the France international and had identified Djibril Sidibe as the player who can fill that void.
The 19-year-old, who will turn 20 this month, was linked with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 earlier in the summer. However, the Frenchman had his heart set on a move to Grand Stade Lille Metropole and has finally secured his move to the 2010/2011 Ligue 1
champions.
Troyes AC, who have won promotion back to Ligue 1, were reluctant to part ways with the promising youngster but Lille made an offer that they couldn’t refuse.
Troyes announced the departure of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 U20 player on their official website after agreeing to deal with Les Dogues. Although the exact details of the deal have not made public, it is believed that LOSC have paid 2 million Euros to Troyes for the full-back.
"Troyes AC and Lille have reached an agreement for the transfer of Djibril Sidibe," read a statement on the official website of Troyes.
According to reports, Lyon were very serious in acquiring the services of the player but the youngster preferred a move to Lille.

Djibril Sidibe was an integral part of Jean-Marc Furlan’s side last season. The Frenchman managed to make 34 appearances for the French club in Ligue 2 last season, helping Troyes win the promotion back to the top tier of the French football.
