Lille OSC’s president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Seydoux, denies that a bid was made by Real Madrid for the purchase of right-back, Mathieu Debuchy.

Marca recently published an article stating that Real Madrid are willing to bid €12 million for French right-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Debuchy-c24682.
Los Blancos have already signed Tottenham’s Luka Modric for €42 million, and rumours suggested that Madrid might cash in on another player.
However, Seydoux has stated, “We have not been approached. Anyway, Mathieu really wants to play Champions League with us”.
Recently, Debuchy has been in the limelight. Due to his performance during the Euro Cup this year, Newcastle entered a bid of £6 million. However, the offer was declined and it seems like Debuchy is going to continue in Lille for a while.
The French right-back represented his country this year during the 2012 Euro Cup.
With impressive individual game-play, Lille does not want to get rid of the 27-year-old Frenchman, and want to keep him for the Champions League, especially since they’ll be facing the German giants, Bayern Munich, in the group stages.
Since Real have already signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554, it is doubtful whether they would need another defensive player.
In relation to their recent match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 for the Supercopa de Espana, Real seem to be doing quite well compared to their disappointing league start.
Losing to Getafe and drawing with Valencia, manager Jose Mourinho had his worst season start to date.
However, with the Champions League coming up, and Madrid having their first match against Manchester City, Real have to step up if they are to survive.
The first game can make or break Los Blancos. A win would mean that they have beaten the British champions, while a loss could mean that they still have work to do.
All in all, we see that whatever rumours were being thrown around about Debuchy moving to Madrid were false. The 27-year-old French right-back is staying in his club, where he is needed for Champions League matches against teams like Bayern Munich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863.
