If there is one player who has impressed a lot for Ajaccio in their return to Ligue 1 football, it is young Benjamin Andre. The 21-year-old midfielder has started 26 of the 29 Ligue 1 games he has played for Olivier Pantaloni’s men.
Though he has scored just three goals and provided only 2 assists, the youngster has been instrumental in making sure that Ajaccio stay in Ligue 1 for at least one more season.
At the club since 2008, the Nice-born Frenchman has a great future ahead of him and has worked his way to become an undisputed holder for Ajaccio.
A versatile midfielder, Andre can also operate in the defence if the need arises which is the main reason why he is so highly-regarded by many coaches in France.
Under contract with Ajaccio until 2014, the France Under-21 international says that he doesn’t really worry himself by thinking about which position he should play in.
“If necessary, I can adapt to the position where I am told to play. The key is to excel and give the best of myself.”
Certainly the youngster is setting a good example to all those players who sulk when their coaches tell them to play in a different position.
Lille are highly impressed with the player’s performances and are keen on making a move for him when the transfer window opens this summer.
