Lily In Pink determined to complete hat-trick today
Following her two back-to-back victories at Leicester and Newbury, the Jonathan Portman trained bay filly, Lily In Pink, seems to be drenched with confidence that will help her complete her maiden hat-trick by sealing the ace title of the CGA "Persian Punch"
Conditions Stakes, scheduled to be held at Salisbury racecourse on Thursday, September 6.
In the class 2 contest, the four-year-old veteran filly will face three strong rivals over the distance of 1 mile, 6 furlong and 21 yards. Like the past two starts, she will deliver well on the good course again.
Lily In Pink started her career in July 2011. In the very next month, she got a runner-up rank and a third. Interestingly, the fantastic filly broke her maiden on September 5 by winning the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Fillies' Handicap.
Her second victory came in June 2012. This time, she sealed the title of the Bath Marquees Fillies' Handicap that took place at Chepstow.
In her first outing at Salisbury on July 1, the daughter of Sakhee out of In Luck finished 5th. During the same month, she registered her third victory with the title of the At The Races Virgin 534 Handicap, held at Leicester. She won that race
by beating the hot favourite candidate Daring Indian.
The J. Ford & Peter J Skinner bred maverick sprinter moved ahead to finish first in the 15-runner contest of Punter Southall Transaction Services Handicap.
These two back-to-back triumphs perked up the filly’s confidence level greatly. She is now keen to achieve third straight success, and hopefully, she will be able to make it true today.
None of the other runner is likely to perform well in the race except First Avenue who fought hard and finished as the runner-up against half a dozen rivals in his last outing at Epsom. He had also registered two consecutive second spots in the month of
April.
The Laura Mongan trained bay gelding will show some resistance but he cannot impede Lily In Pink who is going to be champion of the day. Let us enjoy the amazing contest. Good luck to all the runners.
