Lily Mayday likely to shine at Newcastle – Sprint Preview
Lily Mayday is expected to perform to his utmost at Newcastle racecourse on Saturday, March 10 and notch up top spot in Pinpoint Recruitment Sprint. The high-profile Open Race of 290m Flat distance is set to start at 20:26 (GMT).
The total prize money for the event is £175. G. Oswald’s black hound will run against Ballymac Oma, Lukefayegrace, Mill Mercury, Peggys Way and Goonsosure.
Lily Mayday has been performing nicely since July 2011. He bagged a couple of consecutive victories in the month of July. He went on to win with regular intervals till the end of the last year.
The dashing dog carried forward his momentum to 2012 as well. On February 18, he delivered an outstanding performance at Newcastle and won a big race convincingly.
Since making his debut in February 2010, the son of Droopys Maldini out of Lolos Choice has been performing well. He has accomplished a number of epic triumphs so far.
If Lily Mayday manages to capitalise well on his form and runs to his best, he will surely be able to earn an easy victory. The only thing he needs to do while running is to read the ground conditions properly.
Out of the other hounds, Peggys Way, and Lukefayegrace seems to be tough enough, and they have potential to give tough time to Lily Mayday.
Peggys Way achieved some magnificent victories during the last year. In March-April 2011, the J. Calvert-trained black dog won three races. However, he has been a little bit out of form since the beginning of 2012.
The son of Droopys Kewell out of O Learys Peggy possesses an excellent track record. He is supposed to show a decent run tonight.
On the other hand, Lukefayegrace has won all of his three races to date. The trainee of J. Fenwick made his debut on February 22, 2012 and completed a marvellous hat-trick with his last victory on March 7.
The son of Ballymac Maeve out of Strangford Katie will make a big impact again at Newcastle. He may cause an upset in the race by denying success to the hot favourite runner.
Thus, the Sprint is going to be a rip-roaring competition. Each of the hounds is carrying good form. There will be tough tug of war between Lukefayegrace and Lily Mayday. Let us see who manoeuvres success to his favour. Good luck to the duo.
