How can you get rid of lily pads without hurting the fish in a pond?

  1. If you have a natural bottom pond, pull them out of the bottom. If you have a lined pond, pull the pots out and pull the plants out of the pots. Replace only those you wish to keep.  An article I wrote might help you.

  2. i am assuming this is a small pond.

    next spring drain the pond. save some of the water in a bucket. catch the fish with a net and put in the bucket.

    find the tubers for the lily pads and divide them, like with a machete or something sharp. pitch or compost what you don't want. repot the rest.

    fill the pond with water and use plenty of declor. let the temp stabilize and return the fish.

  3. you should just take out the water get a bucket or something put the fish in their with water of course then get the lilpads go to thr root and chope them off but i suggest you leave some lily pads their cause lilys are for fish so they can hide [:

    or

    you can sick you feet in the pond toch down to the root of the lillys and pull it out
