Lim Chiew Sien and Lim Yin Fun win first-round matches of National Junior Circuit GP Finals 2011
Malaysia’s Lim Chiew Sien and Lim Yin Fun have won their Girl’s Singles first-round matches in the 100Plus National Junior GP Finals 2011, at Bukit Kiara, Malaysia, on Wednesday, May 18.
In Group D, Lim Chiew defeated Chan Yong Heng in straight sets, whereas, Yin Fun emerged as the winner against Nur Aiffa Tajeri in a two games Group E match.
Lim Chiew started the opening set in wonderful fashion as she showed no mercy to Chan Yong in the opening set. It was a completely one-sided fight in the first game where Lim Chiew remained miles ahead of the opponent in all aspects of the game. She clinched
the opening set without facing any resistance from her rival with a stunning difference of 21-9, in just 7 minutes.
In the following set, Chan Yong put up a strong resistance in the first-half. She geared up her speed and executed some superb down the line strokes which earned her a small lead of 11-10, in the first part. Lim Chiew levelled the score after the break by
reaching at 15-15.
She built pressure on the opponent and won the set by a decent lead of 21-18, in just 12 minutes. This 19-minute match ended in the favour of Lim Chiew with a 21-9 and 21-18 score.
In a Group E match, Yin Fun tamed Tajeri in just 22 minutes in straight sets. In the first game, she remained far ahead of the opponent and reached at 11-6, in the first half. After the break, she stretched the gap and finished the first game by a 21-12
margin, in just 12 minutes.
The second game was also the same as the previous one, where Tajeri remained trailing behind the opponent at 7-11, at the end of the first part. After the interval, Yin Fun maintained the difference and won the set by a 21-12 margin, in just 10 minutes.
The match ended with an identical 21-12 score on the board.
