Question:

Limewire partially responsible legally?

I know that Limewire is legal, but most of the content on it isn't. I am asking, isn't it the responsibility of Limewire to not allow copyrighted content to pass through their system? They are giving the up-loaders and down-loaders every tool they need to get free, copyrighted music.

  1. This is why they're being sued, and expected to lose and pay hundreds of millions of dollars in fines.

  2. This is a very simplistic answer, but a real debate would take pages.

The way I see it is that can you blame Smith & Western for gun crime? They create everything you need to kill someone, but you pull the trigger.

Again I know that it is not that easy, but in a nutshell this is how I explain my understanding of responsibility.

  3. you ever let a friend borrow a cd? Because if you have that is illegal isn't it they didn't pay for the cd so if they use it isn't that breaking the law? Its just like saying that My space should be held responsible for sexual predators using there sight they are giving them all the tools to find young girls aren't they cop-able for that?
