Limewire? (read details please)?

i used to have Limewire but my dad is taking it out of the computer because its getting viruses. i was wondering if theirs another program, website etc. that i can download for free and get any song i want except their is no viruses?

Tell your father, that when you and he use limewire correctly you will not get a virus. Limewire itself does not have viruses, but it the the one using limewire incorrectly that infect the computer.

When you look for music, you must have seen, that there are a lot of those small files. Files much too small to be a song. It is therefore very likely that those small files are the fake ( dummy) files.

When you start your downloads for music, with files larger than

2500/3000kb, the chance to get infected is very small.

You know, that on the internet nothing is completely safe and therefore make sure, that your anti virus is up to date.

I have been using limewire for years and I hope, that you can convince your father to let you use limewire again.

Follow my instructions and only download music. NO movies or software. Promise me that.  

Remember, your father did not disallow you to use limewire as punishment, but he thought to do something right and wanted to protect your computer.from being infected.

Illegal music downloading with no viruses is an oxymoron I'm afraid. It comes with the package.

No peer-share program can guarantee that there will be no viruses because the programs are only client-programs.  They hook up different computers that use the same network, and move data over them.  What data is there - pirated music, games, apps, video - depends on who posts it there, the owner of that computer.  That's the price you pay...when you pay nothing at all.

Nobody posts to websites because that makes it easier for music industry lawyers to track and prosecute people.

You can try Frost Wire, but you really need a good virus / spyware program, as well as a firewall.  There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!

Limewire sent viruses to my computer too (those @ssholes!) Qtrax.com is supposed to be free AND legal (they raise the money from the advertisements) but that won't work on my computer. When all comes to worse, do this:

1) Open up two internet explorers.

2) On the first, type in Youtube (or your other favorite online video site.)

3) On the second type in converttube.com.

4) Go back to Youtube and type in as much as you know aboout the song (title, artist, album etc.)

5) After watching several seconds to make sure it's the right one, copy paste the URL into converttube.com

6) Before clicking download, press mp3. (if your mp3. player supports video, you can press flash and get the whole video, audio and flic.)

7) When asked if you want to open or save, click save.

8) Type in the name of song.

9) When asked if you want to open or open folder, press open folder.

10) When the window comes up, plug in your mp3. player, then right-click on the song and select send to - your mp3. player-. (Unless you have an iPod or Zune and you have to use a special program like iTunes.)

I hope that this was helpful. I am not sure if the above procedure was exactly legal or not, but enjoy it anyhow. Also, converttube.com will only let you download something else for like eight minutes if you didn't subscribe. I didn't because it's around $5 dollars a month and I didn't need he stuff that badly.
