ipconfig /all gives me the following:

Windows IP Configuration

Node Type: Unknown

IP Routing Enabled: No

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix: (Blank)

Dhcp Enabled: Yes

Autoconfiguration enabled: Yes

Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0

I left out some information that I thought were personal, but if anything else is needed for diagnosis I'll add details.

Also, I don't know if this is helpful, but when I do >ping 192.168.1.254

Pining ? with 32 bytes of data:

Destination host unreachable.

Destination host unreachable.

Destination host unreachable.

Destination host unreachable.

Ping Statistics for :

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 <100% loss>.

Also, when I try to repair my network, I get a message like this:

Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed:

Renewing your IP address

For assistance, contact the person who manages your network.

Please HELP!!!!!! I will add more details as requested. THANK YOU!

  1. It sounds like your computer is not obtaining an ip address from the router. Try power-cycling the router: unplug the power cable from the back of the router for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait a few seconds for the router to start back up, then try running the 'repair' on the network connection and see if it renews your IP address.

If this doesn't get it, then its possible DHCP is disabled or just not running somewhere on the network, most likely the router. Log in to the router's web interface and make sure that DHCP is enabled. Let me know if any of this helps!
