  1. They wear them because they know that many men, including myself, think it's attractive. It's the same principle as ladies who wear mini skirts on a cold night because they feel 'comfortable', yet spend all night yanking the d**n thing down and shivering. That, however, is not so appealing.

  2. Vanity is certainly a lass' prerogative. A competition of sorts between the ladies in attracting the lads. It's all a fantasy in the end.

  3. I wear them because they're pretty and I like them, they give me better posture and make me feel taller. Yeah I'm independent, I'm not a feminist, but I do believe in equal rights. I don't believe that feminism and independence have anything to do with wearing heels though? Also, they're not uncomfortable if you walk them in and get the right size.

EDIT: Pooh, you're just getting the wrong size heel, they're perfectly comfortable, they're just shoes!

EDIT: Spike, hun, I don't wear anything I wear for men, incuding what goes on my feet. That'd be bizarre. Don't be so arrogant, it's really not becoming ;-)

  4. I dont wear high heels. I think women who wear them are just following fashion trends, u can see their foot is in an un-natural position and they make me laugh when they swear they are comfortable!! I wear trainers, or flat sandles in the summer. I do own a pair of black shoes with heels, just in case of a wedding or funeral. And they are only about 1.5 inches.

  5. I see myself as an independent female and I wear heels cos they are pretty and enhance my height. Heels are not necessarily uncomfortable, as long as are they not too high and have a certain shape to support the feet properly. Additionally, it's not necessary to wear high heels everyday for long hours. Why not wear them on alternately with flats to rest your feet?

  6. At 50+, I don't know if I qualify as a "lass"...?

But, yes, I do sometimes wear high heels. With the right design of shoe, they make your legs look longer and slimmer, which is considered elegant by many. BUT they must be of a comfortable design - that is possible, yes - and the wearer must know how to walk with them. If not, they make you look slightly ridiculous. Also, high heels are not for long walks, nor for standing for a long time. For walking, shopping, casual, wear low heels. For dancing, and showing off, wear high heels if you like.

I am a convinced, dyed-in-the-wool feminist, very independent, (I don't let other feminists tell me what to wear or not to wear) but I don't swear much.....

  7. I love wearing high heels,  it make me look good and feel s**y

  8. High heels really aren't THAT bad, despite what some whiny women might say.

Part of the reason is a play on fashion and wanting to be trendy, and part of it may just be whatever occasion that requires them to wear heels. I mean come on, what woman wants to go to a formal dinner in sandals?

  9. Fashion hun, fashion!

And yeah I'm one of those who swear by equality, at the end of the day though if a lad wants to wear heels, then fair play to him!

  10. I think that it might be one of the many fashions that we just haven't taken the time to consider as a world, yet. As a g*y man I can tell you that nothing makes me feel more confident than a shoe with a tall heel or a platform shoe. Something about walking and feeling the weight on my foot...The more that you stand on your toes, the more prepared you feel, some say. To be said simply, if it's a discomfort then stop, but as I enjoy it too much, I don't have enough of a reason to gripe about the pinched toes or knotted muscles.
