Initially i felt a pulling sensation at the back of my knee and the front of the knee felt tender.Any ideas as i am pulling my hair out at the moment!!

  1. This may be soft-tissue rheumatism (tendinitis)

Pain or discomfort can be extremely difficult to localize, because it's often "referred" from one area to another down the distribution of a nerve.

Tendons are bunches of strong, white tissue that hold muscles to bone.  When a muscle shortens, it pulls on the tendon, which yanks your bone into the place you want it.

If a tendon becomes inflamed (which may be your problem), it;'s hard to tell from the pain just where the injury is.

Youl say the front of the knee feels tender. Press around the different areas of your knee until you find a particular area of tenderness. That usually points exactly to the source of your discomfort.

Once that's been located, you'll probably discover it's caused by an inflamation of the joints, tendons or bursae.

If it is tendinitis, it will take a few weeks or even months to heal, because the tendon is in constant use. Ask your doctor if this may be the problem. She'll prescribe  a course of action that will help relieve the condition.

  2. sounds like tendon trouble
