Lindaweni Fanetri beats Hsiao Ma Pai in Women’s Singles semi-final at Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold
Indonesia’s impressive shuttler Lindaweni Fanetri left all of her poor performances behind and surged into Women’s Singles final after defeating her higher ranked local rival Hsiao Ma Pai in semi-final clash at the Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold 2012 on Saturday,
October 6, in Chinese Taipei.
The un-seeded Lindaweni, who has been working hard to elevate her play and get good results at international level, put up staggering show of top quality game and overpowered Hsiao Ma who was the fourth seeded player in Women’s Singles main draw.
Lindaweni was in impressive confidence on court as she did not hesitate in executing risky shots and remained successful in thrashing her local challenger in three games with a decent margin by taking 70 minutes on court.
On the other hand, the fourth seeded Hsiao Ma tried her best to put up strong show but she failed to shake the confidence of her Indonesian opponent throughout the contest.
The Taipei shuttler failed to control the bird and eventually bowed down to Lindaweni in a rubber-set fight.
In the first game, Lindaweni was in leading position as she put up phenomenal show of aggressive badminton and stayed ahead of her higher ranked opponent until the end of opening half.
After the break, Lindaweni was in no mood to slow down the pace of rallies and remained successful in ending up the first set with a convincing 21-14 score on the board.
In the second game, Hsiao Ma elevated her level of play as she did not let Lindaweni to take control of rallies this time and stayed close until the break.
Lindaweni geared up her speed and took the bird early but she failed to put up strong show in the ending points of second game and eventually lost the game with a 19-21 score on the board.
In the deciding set, Lindaweni was on a completely different level as she dictated the pace of rallies and remained in dominating position all the way to end up the set with a huge margin of 21-10.
Lindaweni won this semi-final clash after a good fight with a 21-14, 19-21 and 21-10 score on the board.
