Manchester United’s Danish goalkeeper has made it clear that he is not going to be a bystander at Old Trafford and that he intends to fight for the no. 1 goalkeeping spot at the club as he wants to play more games...
Anders Lindegaard has revealed that he does not intend to settle for a no.2 place in Manchester United’s goalkeeping column behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 De Gea as he intends to prove himself as the best goalkeeper available to Sir Alex Ferguson
for selection.
The Danish goalkeeper was a big part of United’s title charge last season which ended in a second place finish in the English Premier League. Half way through the season Anders Lindegaard was bogged down with fitness issues and
thus gave up the first team spot to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463. Lindegaard had capitalized on poor performances by De Gea as Sir Alex Ferguson had given him a good run of games in the first team but all of that ended with his injury troubles.
However now the young shot stopper is determined to make a comeback and take back the top goalkeeping spot at Manchester United. Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson will indeed look to the Danish international who was left out of Denmark’s squad
for the EURO 2012 due the lack of games that he played at Manchester United during the last Premier League season.
Healthy competition between Lindegaard and De Gea will be beneficial for Manchester United as well as the club will have two world class goalkeepers to pick from and rotate in some cases to compete on all fronts.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anders-Lindegaard-c5553 said, "I want the No.1 spot because I am the best. I don't want it because he [De Gea] is injured or he is not here. I am sure he is a bit in front right now because he did well last season, so I need to take
every chance I get to prove myself worthy of the No.1 spot."
He added, "If you look at it objectively, it was maybe one of the worst situations a football player has ever been in. I had worked for that spot since I was four. From the first time I touched the ball that is what I dreamed of.”
