Question:

Line between asking Yahoo Answers and your doctor?

I am very annoyed that from time to time on the front page, I see people asking for medical advice.

For a common cough and its remedies, I'm all for that. Different cultures have different remedies. The more you know, the better.

But for people asking about what to do about their unborn babies, rashes on their genetials, and other serious problems, they ask yahoo answers before going to their doctors. It irritates me that people like these are wasting valuable time. Many diseases and infections can be treated easily and with no pain whatsoever if brought in early enough.

What do you guys think? What is that "line" where you draw between asking for helpful remedy tricks and asking your doctor who went to med school for over 8 years (and in many cases, has many years of expierence).

  1. i always tell people to go to the doctors, but i think that most people are affraid of the truth, and they know that most answers will say "im sure its nothing" so they wont have to worry about it

  2. i think the line is pretty much death, other than that people will still come to yahoo answers first
