Line-up coming together for the Grade 1 $400,000 American Oaks Invitational at Hollywood Park
Anticipation is rising about the Grade 1, $400,000 American Oaks Invitational at Hollywood Park which is due to take place on 14th July, 2012, over 1 1/4 miles.
Reserved for fillies that are three-year-old, this race is gaining attention since this will be the last Grade 1 event of the spring-summer meeting.
John W. Sadler’s charge, Lady Of Shamrock, is the one of the toughest runners, who is attracting a significant amount of attention. The Kentucky bred runner has been performing well and is now looking to add another victory to her record.
The daughter of Scat Daddy, foaled by mare Blushing Issue, will bring her best to the track and will hope to perform an encore of her performance that she delivered at Santa Anita Park in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes.

She charged through the 1 1/8 mile track, and defeated the Simon Callaghan trained, Byrama, in 1 minute and 46.80 seconds.
The Florida bred, Regalo Mia, will also try her luck in this mega-event after finishing second in the Grade 2 Sands Point Stakes at Belmont Park over a distance of 1 1/16 miles.
The charge of Michelle Nihei, who trains the filly for owner, Steven W. Ciccarone, finished second to, Better Lucky, while Zultanite finished in third place.
Entries from the United Kingdom include the Rae Guest trained, Miss Cato, who recently competed at Newbury in the Lord Weinstock Memorial Stakes (Registered As The Ballymacoll Stud Stakes) (Listed Race) (Fillies).

However, lost the race by a margin of 2 ¼ lengths to John Gosden’s charge, Great Heavens, over 1 mile and 2 furlongs.
The Mick Channon trained, Nayarra, will also be shipped from the United Kingdom. The daughter of Cape Cross, out of mare Massarra, has not landed a race since October 2011, when she competed in the Group 1 Premio Gran Criterium at San Siro and defeated,
Rosa Eglanteria, by a narrow margin.
The bay filly secured a placed finish at Newmarket in the Group 3 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes, when she lost the victory by a neck to Richard Hannon’s charge, Esentepe, in April, 2012.
