Lineage plz?

Hey! I was thinking how cool would it be I might have some type of royal blood in my family tree (one can dream right?!) but have no clue on were to start or find out..plz help:)?

Pay to have your lineage traced by a genealogical society. Burke's Peerage and Debrett's both offer that service.So does Ancestry.com. Burke's and Debrett's specialize in the aristocracy and royalty.

You are very likely to have royal blood in your veins, but then again, so are most people. Throughout the decades there have been so many different royal families, nearly everyone has to be related to at least one of them, some how.

Records don't really go back that far - my family tree dates back to around the late 1700s - and that's quite rare compared to others.

The good news is it is highly likely that you are descended from royalty, the bad news is so are most people, but very few records are intact.

The following statment is on the royal website:

"Her Majesty is 38th in direct line of descent from Egbert (c. 775-839), King of Wessex from 802 and of England 827 to 839."

However, 38 generations is a huge number of people. A sizeable percentage of citizens of UK are probably descended from Egbert.
