can someone help me by EXPLAINING how to solve questions like these:

1. Find any intercepts y=x^2 +x-2

2. test for symmetry w/ respect to both axes and the origin xy=4

3.find the points of intersection of the graphs of these equations x+y=2 and 2X-y=1

i would really appreciate any help. thanks

  1. 1) to find intercepts you can do two things.. you can factor the equation or using the quadratic formula

    2) to test for symmetry is a odd question but i think what you mean is find the axis of symmetry and find the vertex cause you said to both axes.

    3) to find the points of intersection you set the the equations equal to each other. to do this you manipulate it until you y=.... and y=...

  2. see i would answer this but i dont have to deal with school until the 3rd of sept and ill keep it that way
