Linebacker Terrell Suggs targets Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans for return – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is targeting Houston Texans' game for a possible return from partially torn Achilles tendon that he suffered in a controversial manner during this offseason.
The Ravens are due to face the Texans on October 21 and some sections of media have quoted anonymous sources claiming the player must be ready to hit the field by then.
Officially, the Ravens have neither denied not accepted these reports to be credible ones but they are well within the encouraging analysis of the player’s recovery process that coach John Harbaugh had presented a few days ago.
The coach had refrained from giving an exact timeline for return of the player, just hoping it would happen soon.
Interestingly, Suggs himself has not given an indication when he expects himself back on the field, probably because of a fear that he might end up guessing it wrong, as he had done soon after suffering the injury.
The player had caused a stir in the media and the National Football League (NFL) community by claiming to return by November but he was not supported by the coach or any other Raven and independent analysts so he became silent all of sudden, and still is.
Earlier, the linebacker had also claimed his was partially torn tendon injury so he could stage a comeback sooner than he could have done in case of suffering a full extent blow but people around him including the head coach cautioned him against giving
an overoptimistic view of his recovery process.
Also, the player fought back the reports that he was injured while playing basketball with his off-field buddies. He and his agent claimed the player was injured while doing a conditioning workout at the team’s facilities, to avoid a pay-cut.
As per rules of the NFL rules, teams are allowed not to compensate the players for the time they spend while recovering from an injury that is caused by an activity other than football and away from the team’s facilities.
Although the Ravens had not hinted at taking the drastic measures as to stop paying Suggs, as he had feared, the team officially did not challenge the claim of the player and his agent.
