Question:

Lines in window tint?

Hello,

I just got my windows professionally tinted last tuesday, at 12%. The people who did it said not to roll my windows down for a few days, and that the bubbles will disappear. On my windows, however, I have a few different kinds of water (air?) pockets. There are a few patches where the size of the bubbles is the size of a pencil point. Theres some around the edges where it's maybe a centimeter in diameter. Then there a couple streaks, about an inch long each, on my rear and back left windows. It almost looks like there's hair under the tint, but I don't see any there. Also, when I run my finger over it on the inside, it is raised. Any idea if all 3 kinds of bubbles are normal, and if/when they will disappear? I called the tint shop, but no one is answering and I will take it back in a week if it doesn't fix itself. Lifetime warranty.

Thanks!

  1. It takes about 7-14 days for all the water to evaporate from under the film and for it to cling properly depending on how sunny and humid your weather is. Give it until next week like you said...

  2. Definitely take it back if they don't settle after a week.  They might not have cleaned the glass well before tinting...

  3. I just tinted my windows two days ago and I'm having the same problem Are you're windows looking any better?
