Hello, I am doing a project on Stress and I would just like to have ideas as to how stress is linked with these three disciplines... If there are any articles that would be helpful for me to use please post them.

In terms of economy I discussed the amount of prescriptions given out and how much money has been spent to pay those fees. I also discussed what stress costs to business : absenteeism, employee turnover... etc...

  1. Get a flu during winter time depends on the individual 's socio-economic status.

Do not get a flu shows a strong immune system. To have a strong immune system depend on how people deal with their stress. People who has good work positions, for instance a CEO, can manage well their stress level because they can take decisions in their jobs. People who has low work positions can not manage their stress because they can not take decisions that affect to them.

Also, people with money have access to better food, for instance organic food, vacations and entertainments that allow them to handle their stress.

For those reasons people who work in low positions have more probabilities to have strokes, hypertension and cardiac attacks because these problems are linking to poor management of stress.

  2. well, as far as sociology goes, i would think that stress can be linked to that by conformity. society is all about conformity, everyone trying to find where they fit in. many people will do what they have to, to fit in and be accepted. that can be very stressful, just trying to find your place among the people of society.

stress could be linked to psychology by Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. everyone goes through life trying to meet their own essential needs. physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. trying to meet all those needs can be stressful. some people don't even meet all of their needs and it can cause great amounts of stress.

i don't really know of any articles to help, sry. you might want to try www.psychiatrymatters.md

you'll have to sign up, but it provides a lot of psychological journals and articles. you might find something there.

i dunno, hope this was helpful to you.
