i'm thinking on buying a Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router but i want to know the distance range

  1. NO... wireless routers are NOT created equal.  The range of the WRT54GS is limited (30-60ft) more so than others in its class.    It is better suited for a wood structure and NOT block walls.

    However... if you want to prevent people outside your house from using your wireless routers and your house is wood and its limited in size... this is the router for you.

    If you need several floors of coverage and you have a large house, purchase the versions that support "N" (wrt16N for example).


  2. wireless g is not the greatest for range,i have the  Linksys WRT54GS and barely get 20 feetand start losing signal. the wireless n is way better, i have it for my laptop and i can go nearly a quarter mile away and still pick up

  3. Pretty much the all the Wireless routers that is IEEE 802.11 b/g has the same amount of range. Check that wiki site about the linksys wireless routers, its very detailed. the S at the end of the model of ur router means Speedbooster!
