Linksys WRT54GS wireless router problem

Question

I have a linksys WRT54GS wireless router, i noticed that my router had a an older version of firmware. I went to the linksys web page and downloaded the new firmware and uploaded correctly, but the problem is that every-time I try to access my router take a long time to open it. I think is the new firmware because in the old one use to work fine. I change the firmware because they said is good to be uodate.

I would recommend that you look into http://www.dd-wrt.com .  They wrote alternate firmware for several Linksys routers, not to mention others.  I have a Linksys WRT54G v4 and I know they have one for the GS model.  It's not only great stable firmware, it also allows you to unlock some really cool features.  For example you can, reassign the WAN port to the router, use your router as a hotspot (like the pros do), change the transmit power, and much much more!!  I'll never use Linksys's firmware again;)

I have upgraded the same firmware on my router, it's seems everything ok here..  you haven't mention which version firmware currently you are using.. also make sure, you haven't entered any proxy on your IE broser.  (Tools>Internet options> connections > Lan Settings >  uncheck all check box..
